Makenzie O'Brien begins her first season as a graduate assistant for the Lincoln Memorial University women's lacrosse program in 2020.
O'Brien comes to LMU from Division I Long Island University, where she played goalie for two seasons. The Sharks advanced to the East Coast Conference finals and made an appearance in the NCAA National Tournament in 2019 before having her final season come to halt due to COVID-19.Â
Prior to Long Island, O’Brien played in between the pipes at NJCAA powerhouse Onondaga. O'Brien started all 23 games and recorded 139 saves in her two years as a Lazer. The team participated in the 2017 and 2018 Region III finals, and the 2017 and 2018 NJCAA National Championships. The native of Chenango Forks, New York earned 2017 and 2018 Region III all-conference honors and was named team captain in 2018.

O’Brien is currently in the first of her two-year stint in the Master of Business Administration program with a concentration in marketing. Makenzie arrives to Harrogate after obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in sports management at Long Island University in May of 2020.Â
