Chris Phillips

Chris Phillips starts her second year at the helm of the rail splitters. Coming off a new beginning last year and they are setting their sights on big things this season.

Phillips has twenty plus seasons as a Collegiate head coach, thirteen of those at Liberty University in Virginia and another six years at Gardner-Webb University in North Carolina. Coach Phillips guided her teams to three NCAA Tournaments and three Big South Championships. She was twice named Big South Coach of the Year.  Phillips has coached several 20-win seasons. She has compiled a lengthy track record of recruiting quality athletes and directing high level programs across the country. 

Phillips was the Assistant Coach for the Liberty University Men’s club program in 2019, which finished 3rd in the Nation.

Her teams have received the Academic Team Award from the AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) at every university she has coached and was once the No. 2 ranked team in the nation with a team GPA of 3.69.

Coach Phillips earned her bachelor's degree in physical education from Greenville College in Greenville, IL.   She is married to Ed Phillips and they have two boys, Fletcher and Dax.
