Leonardo da Silva (Itajuba, Brazil) helped the Railsplitters secure their best start since 2005 with a pair of superb offensive performances.
 
With 36 seconds left in regulation in a 0-0 ballgame, da Silva rebounded a blocked cross and provided the game winner in a 1-0 victory at Brevard on Wednesday. That capped a match in which he single-handedly outshot the Tornados 7-3. In Saturday’s 2-1 overtime win against Queens, da Silva assisted on George Burne’s 32nd-minute marker to stake the Railsplitters to an early 1-0 lead. He led all players with seven shots and four shots on goal in that match.
 
Da Silva is currently ranked fourth in the SAC in goals (3) and first in shot attempts (30).
