Lady Railsplitters collide with Trevecca Nazarene Tuesday in Nashville

HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Lady Railsplitters (9-2-2) take a brief hiatus from South Atlantic Conference action on Tuesday as they trek to Nashville, Tenn. for a non-conference battle with Great Midwest Athletic Conference member Trevecca Nazarene (10-4-2). Kickoff between Lincoln Memorial and the Trojans is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Trojans Soccer Complex.

Lincoln Memorial extended its streak of consecutive matches without a loss to 10 on Saturday evening, finishing in a 1-1 tie with Catawba thanks to a goal by senior Fernanda Miaci (Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil) in the 37th minute of action.  Miaci's score marked her seventh goal of the season as the senior now leads the Lady Railsplitters in goals scored.

The Lady Railsplitters span of 10 straight appearances without a loss matches the 2004 squad that rattled off a 9-0-1 record to start the season. The 1997 team that finished 17-2-2 owns the longest such streak in program history after racking up 16 straight appearances on the pitch without suffering a loss.

The Trevecca Nazarene Trojans are set to host the Lady Railsplitters after back-to-back wins over Ursuline and Cedarville this past week. Lincoln Memorial is the second South Atlantic Conference member to square off with the Trojans this season as TNU captured a 2-1 overtime win against Carson-Newman on September 24. The Trojans have compiled 38 goals on 252 shots this season, averaging 2.38 goals per contest while limiting their opponents to just over one goal per game.

Offensively, the Trojans boast a plethora of scoring as 15 of their 22 players have netted at least one goal this season. Freshman Diana Corzine currently leads the team with seven goals on 30 shot attempts and 18 shots on goal. In addition to Corzine, junior Anna Hoffman and senior Brooke Gann have combined for nine goals and six assists as Hoffman's 32 shot attempts lead the team while Gann has managed to hoist a team-leading 20 shots on goal.

Defensively, Trevecca Nazarene features a true freshman in net as Liz Denton is primed to make her 15th start between the frames for the Trojans this season. The freshman backstop has racked up 66 saves total while allowing 16 goals for a 1.11 goals against average in 1300:12 minutes of action.

The Lady Railsplitters will counter with junior goalkeeper Kayla Stephens (Keller, Texas) as the Keller, Texas native has accumulated 40 saves and a .62 goals against average in 870:49 minutes.

Tuesday's match marks only the third time that the two programs have met as the Trojans beat the Lady Railsplitters 1-0 in the first head-to-head meeting back on October 3, 2012, while Lincoln Memorial claimed a 2-0 victory over Trevecca Nazarene last season at the LMU Soccer Complex.

The Lady Railsplitters and Trojans are scheduled to get underway at 5 p.m. from the Trojan Soccer Complex in Nashville, Tenn.
