The Lady Railsplitters and Indians were locked in an 8-8 deadlock after an Abby Pennington service ace early in the first stanza. A kill by Fleeman kick started a 4-0 run that propped Lincoln Memorial to a 12-8 advantage, forcing an Indian timeout. Coming out of the timeout, Catawba worked back to even the set at 14-14 on a Taylor Houser service ace, but the Lady Railsplitters took five of the next seven rallies to extend the lead to 19-16. The Indians altered the complexion of the set by ripping off a 7-0 rally - paced by three LMU attacking errors and a pair of service aces - to jump in front 23-19. The Lady Railsplitters answered with a 5-0 run, highlighted by two Fleeman kills, to regain the lead at 24-23. Catawba staved off set point on two separate occasions before an
Allison McKinnon (Missouri City, Texas) kill and an Indian attack error provided the Lady Railsplitters with a 27-25 triumph.
