HARROGATE, Tenn. -- A solid all-around effort offensively and defensively showcased the Lady Railsplitters' (10-11, 7-8 SAC) straight-set win over the Catawba Indians (11-11, 8-7 SAC) in South Atlantic Conference volleyball action on Saturday afternoon at Mary Mars Gym. Lincoln Memorial snapped its three-match SAC losing skid with set scores of 25-15, 25-22 and 25-22.

Â
The Lady Railsplitters and Indians went back and forth early in the first set, tying five times through the first 18 rallies. McKenzie Garrison gave Catawba an 11-9 lead with a kill and a service ace, but Lincoln Memorial quickly regained sideout and ripped off a 9-0 run, capped with a kill by Brock, to build a commanding 16-11 lead. An LMU attack error trimmed their lead back to 17-14 later in the set, but the Lady Railsplitters won eight of the last nine points to complete the 25-15 victory. 17 of the Lady Railsplitters' 25 points in the set were earned via a kill, as they finished with a .316 attack percentage, while Catawba hit .054 with just seven kills.
Â
Catawba took the first three points of set two, but the Lady Railsplitters reasserted control at 8-6 following a kill by Holland. A kill by Brock increased the Lady Railsplitters' lead to 13-10 before the Indians went on a 5-0 scoring run to pull ahead 15-13. With the set even at 17-17, the Lady Railsplitters used four-consecutive Catawba attack errors to give themselves some breathing room, which proved significant when the Indians pulled to within one at 23-22 on a Lincoln Memorial miscue. It wouldn't get any closer than that though, as a kill by Brock and a Catawba attack error, their eighth of the set, clinched the 25-22 win.
Â
A Bri Howard kill gave the Indians a 12-10 lead early in the third set, but kills by Fleeman, Holland and
Jazzy Oates (Franklin, Tenn.) paced a 4-0 run that sparked the Lady Railsplitters to a 14-12 lead. Catawba fought back to tie the set three times after that, eventually pulling back in front at 20-18 on a kill from Kaytee Frabotta. The Indians' lead grew to 22-19 on a kill by Garrison, but that would be the last point of the match for Catawba. Lincoln Memorial used kills from Brock and
Danielle Ged (Smyrna, Tenn.), as well as an Indians ball-handling error to even the set at 22-22. Fleeman then recorded a pair of kills around a Catawba attack error to end the match with a 25-22 set-three triumph. Offensively, the third set was another one-sided affair, as the Lady Railsplitters produced 16 kills on a .325 attack percentage, while Catawba hit .146.
