HARTSVILLE, S.C. -- Elena Vasilyeva (Yaroslavl, Russia) maintained her unblemished South Atlantic Conference record as the Lady Railsplitters (2-4, 0-3 SAC) suffered their second one-point loss in as many days with a 5-4 defeat at the hands of the Coker Cobras (5-7, 1-1 SAC) on Monday in Hartsville, S.C.

Vasilyeva was perfect in the match, recording a 6-2, 6-0 evisceration of Jennifer Mezei at the No. 1 singles flight and teaming up with
Gemma Goodland (Melbourne, Victoria, Australia) to capture an 8-3 win over Mezei and Sarah Elliott at the top doubles flight. The Yaroslavl, Russia product improved to 3-0 in singles play in SAC action, but she didn't receive much help from her teammates.

Giovanna Lombardi (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) and
Angelica Solano (Bogota, Columbia) accounted for the team's only other points with wins at No. 4 and No. 6 singles. Lombardi battled back for a 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 win over Elliott, while Solano defeated Jenna Gainey with a pair of tiebreakers.

The Cobras took both the second and third doubles flight to build an early 2-1 advantage as Bailey and Ragan Palmer rolled Lombardi and Solano 8-0 at No. 2 doubles and Jessi Campos and Suzanna Mickey collected an 8-1 win over
Priscilla Bulandres (Markham, Ontario, Canada) and
Roksolana Prudyvus (Lviv, Ukraine).

Goodland took only a single game off of Bailey Palmer in the second singles flight, while Bulandres was forced to retire after just five games in the first set. Ragan Palmer topped Prudyvus 6-4, 6-1 in the No. 5 flight.

Looking for their first win since knocking off Young Harris on February 8, the Lady Railsplitters welcome the Anderson Trojans to the LMU Tennis Complex for a SAC battle at 11 a.m. on Friday.
