HARROGATE, Tenn. -- The Lady Railsplitters (5-5, 3-4 SAC) won five of the six singles matches and earned their third consecutive South Atlantic Conference victory with a 7-2 win over the Mars Hill Lions (4-9, 1-7 SAC) on Wednesday at the LMU Tennis Complex.

It was another unblemished match for junior
Elena Vasilyeva (Yaroslavl, Russia), who improved to 7-0 in SAC singles matches with a commanding 6-0, 6-1 win over Lucy McLaurin in the top singles flight. Prior to that, Vasilyeva and
Gemma Goodland (Melbourne, Victoria, Australia) jumped to 8-1 in doubles action with an 8-3 win over McLaurin and Jasha Geerdink at No. 1 tandems.

The Lady Railsplitters and Lions split the other two doubles matches, with
Priscilla Bulandres (Markham, Ontario, Canada) and
Roksolana Prudyvus (Lviv, Ukraine) notching an 8-2 over Natalie Hilbig and Luz Heilman in the third flight, to send Lincoln Memorial into singles action with a slight 2-1 edge.

Vasilyeva's win at No. 1 set the tone for a dominant singles performance for the Lady Railsplitters. Goodland mashed Geerdink 6-3, 6-4 in the second flight, while Prudyvus dropped just three games in a 6-2, 6-1 win over Hilbig in the fourth flight.
Summer Robinson (Midway, Tenn.) and
Angelica Solano (Bogota, Columbia) won both of their matches at No. 5 and No. 6 by 6-1, 6-1 set scores.

Despite winning the opening set 6-0, Bulandres dropped her third flight match against Jade Henke in three set (0-6, 6-4, 10-6).

Vasilyeva has captured eight consecutive singles wins, while the duo of Prudyvus and Bulandres has earned four straight wins. Goodland, Prudyvus and Solano are all three riding three-match winning streaks.

The Lady Railsplitters hop right back on the court on Thursday, traveling to Greeneville, Tenn. for a SAC battle against the Tusculum Pioneers, with doubles action set for a 2 p.m. start.
