Notes on the Lady Railsplitters:
-Lincoln Memorial knocked off the 10-time defending SAC champion Wingate Bulldogs in five sets on Friday night at Mary Mars Gym to take over sole possession of first place in the league standings. That victory, which the Lady Railsplitters won by scores of 18-25, 25-19, 25-22, 18-25 and 15-9, ended a 21-game losing streak against Wingate and represented LMU's first-ever win against the Bulldogs.
-The Lady Railsplitters followed that up with an easy-breezy three-set win over Coker on Saturday afternoon. Lincoln Memorial held the Cobras to a -.020 attack percentage in the 25-11, 25-16, 25-15 triumph.
-With its victory over Coker, Lincoln Memorial matched the program's highest win total since the 2012 team finished with a 21-14 mark. The Lady Railsplitters are quickly approaching the program's single-season record for wins, which was established by the 1998, 1999 and 2000 teams. Those three squads each posted 24 wins.
-Redshirt-sophomore
Samantha Cash (New Carlisle, Ohio) had a big week for the Lady Railsplitters last week, tallying at least eight kills in wins over Mars Hill, Wingate and Coker while hitting above .300 in each of those outings. She led Lincoln Memorial with 12 kills on a .303 clip against Wingate and followed that up with 11 kills on a .579 mark in the win over Coker. In SAC play, Cash is averaging 3.00 kills per set on a .341 attack percentage, ranking ninth and first in those respective categories.
-Though it's been a little under the radar, senior setter
Abby Cash (New Carlisle, Ohio) is having a tremendous season for the Lady Railsplitters. Cash has compiled 9.85 assists per set and 926 total assists, ranking third and second in the league in those categories. In addition to that, she has put up 3.40 digs per set and hit .219 when she has decided to go on the attack.
-The Lady Railsplitters are 8-1 on the road this season and have won four consecutive road matches. Lincoln Memorial last lost on the road on September 23, when Wingate defeated the Lady Railsplitters in straight sets.
Notes on the Pioneers:
-Tusculum enters Tuesday's match sitting in seventh place in the SAC standings with an 11-14 overall record and a 6-11 mark in league play. The Pioneers went 4-9 in the month of October, capped of by back-to-back straight-set losses at Queens and Catawba.
-The Pioneers hit .073 in the loss at Queens and .092 in the loss at Catawba. Offensive inefficiency has haunted Tusculum for most of the season, as the Pioneers are ranked seventh in the 12-team SAC in attack percentage with a .174 clip. Tusculum hit .161 as a unit over 13 matches in October.
-The Pioneers are powered offensively by junior Laryssa Welch, sophomore Cassie Born and senior Rachel Garnett.
