Notes on the Railsplitters:

-Lincoln Memorial netted five second-half goals to fuel a 6-1 win over the Lees-McRae Bobcats at the LMU Soccer Complex on Wednesday in the program's most prolific scoring performance since the 2012 campaign (a 7-1 win over Anderson). Four different players tallied a goal for the Railsplitters, a quartet led by senior George Burne (Carlisle, England), who recorded the fastest hat trick in program history with three goals in the final two minutes and 47 seconds. That scoring barrage erased the memory of a four-game stretch that saw the Railsplitters account for just two goals.

-Burne's three goals were scored at 87:17, 88:07 and 89:44, as the Carlisle, England native became the first LMU player to record a hat trick since former All-American forward Mario Pinto did it in 2013. That effort accounted for more than a quarter of Burne's career tallies, as he now has 11 career goals in his four-year tenure in the Blue and Gray.

-The Railsplitters have lost three of their last four SAC matches, wedging a 1-0 win over Lenoir-Rhyne around losses to Queens, Tusculum and most recently Wingate. In addition to that, Lincoln Memorial will be looking for its first road victory in nearly a month. The Railsplitters last captured a road win at Young Harris on September 10.

-Lincoln Memorial has tallied 18 goals as a team this season, ranking sixth in the South Atlantic Conference in that department. However, goals have been much harder to come by against SAC opponents, as the Railsplitters have just four goals in five league matches. That ranks dead last in the league.

-Freshman goalkeeper August Ahlin (Stockholm, Sweden) has displayed poise and composure well beyond his age. Over the course of 890 minutes of action, Ahlin has produced 25 saves and a 1.11 goals against average. He made four stops against Lees-McRae, including a diving save early in the second half that prevented the Bobcats from equalizing the match.

Notes on the Wolves:

-Newberry enters Sunday's contest looking for just its second win since the first week of September. After opening the season with two wins, the Wolves lost three straight before knocking off Coker 2-0 on September 21. Since then, Newberry is 0-3-1 with losses to Wingate, Southern Wesleyan and Tusculum as well as a 3-3 draw against Anderson on Sunday. In that double-overtime draw against the Trojans, the Wolves were leading 3-0 after 71 minutes, but gave up three goals over the final 17 minutes, including the game-tying goal with 42 seconds left in regulation.

-The Wolves have the second-fewest goals in the league this season with just 13, while they rank dead last in shot percentage with a .108 mark. Newberry averages a mere 12 shots per game and only 41.7 percent of those attempts land on frame. Both of those figures rank 10th in the SAC.

-Davis Bryan, Quintin Eisner, Claus Lehland and Sterling Wendt lead the Wolves with two goals apiece. Lehland stands out among that quartet with a team-leading 17 shots and eight shots on goal. Cameron Provan has tallied a goal and an assists on just two shots on goal. Four other players have contributed a goal for the Wolves.

-The Railsplitters and Wolves share three common opponents in Wingate, Southern Wesleyan and Tusculum. Lincoln Memorial went 1-2 against those three teams, while Newberry went 0-3 and were outscored by a combined 10-2 margin in those contests.

-Newberry is 2-1-1 at the Smith Road Complex this season as compared to a 1-5 mark on the road.

-Sophomore Brad Dixon has played every second in goal for the Wolves, compiling a 2.24 goals against average while making a SAC-leading 78 saves. Dixon has stood up well under the constant pressure he's faced, producing a .772 save percentage, the fourth-best mark in the SAC.

Series History:

-The Railsplitters have completely owned Newberry since the series began in 1996, winning 10 of the 12 all-time meetings. In fact, the Wolves haven't won beaten Lincoln Memorial since LMU became an official SAC member in 2007. The Railsplitters are 9-0-1 since 2006, with the tie coming at Newberry in 2014.

-Lincoln Memorial absolutely throttled Newberry in last season's clash, winning 5-0 at the LMU Soccer Complex. Danilo da Silva (Campinas, Brazil) had a goal and an assist, while Henrique Rezek (Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil) had two goals and an assist to lead that landslide victory.
