Notes on the Lady Railsplitters:

-Lincoln Memorial wrapped up the regular season by cruising to a 3-0 win over the Brevard Tornados on Saturday afternoon at Mary Mars Gym. The Lady Railsplitters hit .250 as a team with 32 kills and only eight errors, while Brevard hit just .023 with 30 attack errors. Samantha Cash (New Carlisle, Ohio) led LMU with a near triple-double, as she produced seven kills, seven digs and 15 assists. Liz Brock (Lima, Ohio) chipped in six kills and nine digs.

-With the win and Queens' loss, the Lady Railsplitters finished alone in second place in the SAC standings to match the program's best-ever SAC finish. The 2011 team was the last to match that feat, as that squad tied with Catawba for second place after posting a 14-4 SAC record.

-The Lady Railsplitters held sole possession of first place in the SAC standings with four matches left in the regular season, but stumbled a bit down the stretch, suffering three straight losses to fall into a tie for second place. Lincoln Memorial had a chance to clinch at least a share of the SAC title this past weekend, but a 3-0 loss to Lenoir-Rhyne on Friday night forced the Lady Railsplitters to settle for second place.

-In that loss to the Bears, the Lady Railsplitters fell by scores of 25-22, 25-21 and 26-24, but the outcome could have been much different if LMU would have taken care of business late in the second and third sets. In set two, the Lady Railsplitters held a 19-17 lead, but the Bears ended the frame on an 8-2 spurt to take a 2-0 lead. LMU had a 24-22 lead in the third frame before L-R ended that one with a 4-0 flurry to wrap up the 3-0 win.

-The Lady Railsplitters are looking to advance to the semifinals of the SAC Tournament for the fourth time in the past seven seasons. Last season, Lincoln Memorial whipped Catawba in straight sets in the quarterfinal round to advance to the semifinals, where they were handed a heartbreaking 3-2 loss by Wingate, who erased a 2-0 deficit to move on to the finals. The Lady Railsplitters will be looking to make their first appearance in the SAC Championship final since 2008.

-With a win on Tuesday, the Lady Railsplitters would match the program's single-season record for wins. Three different LMU squads have won 24 games in a season, as the 1998, 1999 and 2000 teams accomplished that feat in succession under current Associate Athletic Director Mike Smith.

Notes on the Bears:

-Lenoir-Rhyne was picked to finish second in the SAC preseason coaches poll, but injuries devastated the Bears throughout the regular season. However, Lenoir-Rhyne is healthy now and playing some of the best volleyball in the conference. Since suffering a 3-2 loss at Catawba on November 1, the Bears have won five straight matches, which includes wins over Wingate, Queens and Lincoln Memorial. Most recently, Lenoir-Rhyne had to overcome a 2-1 deficit to defeat Carson-Newman in the regular-season finale on Saturday in Jefferson City.

-After accounting for 11.74 kills per set on a .175 attack percentage over the course of nine matches in October, Lenoir-Rhyne has put up 12.35 kills per set on a .185 clip in six matches in November. The Bears has 37 kills with a .191 hitting percentage in that win at LMU.

-Outside hitter Brooke Redmond leads the Lenoir-Rhyne attack and ranks second in the SAC with 3.40 kills per set. In addition to that, she has put up 2.89 digs per set and tallied 33 total blocks. She has produced double-digit kills in her last three matches, including a 19-kill performance in the win at Carson-Newman.

-Along with Redmond, senior right side Brandi Thomas is racking up 2.50 kills per set and 2.81 digs per set, while junior middle Emily Steele has contributed 2.25 kills per set on a team-leading .268 attack percentage. Steele also ranks fourth in the SAC in blocks per set with 1.05. Jessica Funk leads the team with 7.96 assists per set to go along with 2.28 digs per frame, while Ashley Markland has posted a team-high 3.86 digs per set.

-Lenoir-Rhyne is the defending SAC Tournament champions, as the Bears went through Queens, Carson-Newman and Wingate to win their first-ever SAC Volleyball Championship and snap Wingate's nine-year run as SAC Tournament champions.

Series History:

-Lenoir-Rhyne owns a 13-11 edge in the all-time series against Lincoln Memorial and has won seven of the last eight meetings, including Friday's 3-0 win at Mary Mars Gym.

-Lincoln Memorial will be looking to snap a four-match home losing streak against Lenoir-Rhyne that dates back to the 2013 season. The Lady Railsplitters last defeated the Bears at Mary Mars Gym on September 28, 2012.

-Tuesday marks the first-ever postseason meeting between Lincoln Memorial and Lenoir-Rhyne.

-In Friday's loss to the Bears, Lincoln Memorial hit just .121 as a team and committed a plethora of errors (22 attack, six service and eight receiving). Sam Cash led the team with 10 kills, while Brock had eight. Redmond led Lenoir-Rhyne with a game-high 11 kills.

-Lincoln Memorial defeated the Bears in four sets back on October 7 in Hickory, N.C. The Lady Railsplitters out-killed L-R 60-48, an effort led by 16 kills from Cash and 12 kills from Brock and Danielle Ged (Smyrna, Tenn.).
