Pioneers overpower Lady Railsplitters 22-10

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. -- The Lady Railsplitter lacrosse team (3-7, 0-5 SAC) had one of the best offensive outputs in program history but were unable to overcome Tusculum's (8-3, 3-2 SAC) offensive attack as they fell to the Pioneers 22-10 Wednesday evening.

LMU was led by Bre'Asia James' (Vero Beach, Fla.) four goals. Amara Moss (Woodbridge, Va.) and Jasmin Click (Clermont, Fla.) each had 2 goals while Jeni Schorling (Westerville, Ohio) and Casey Kelly (Ellenwood, Ga.) contributed one goal apiece. Kelly and Click also had an assist in the contest.

LMU and Tusculum tied in draws with 17 apiece while the Pioneers had 26 ground balls to LMU's 15. They also outshot the Lady Railsplitters 32-17.

Savannah Elliot led Tusculum with seven goals.

The Pioneers got on the board early, scoring less than a minute into the game. James then scored back to back goals to put LMU up 2-1, but the Pioneers would score two quick goals of their own to go up 3-2 eight minutes into the match. Click and James both notched a goal over the next minute to put the Lady Railsplitters ahead 4-3.

Tusculum then went on a 12-3 run to take a 15-7 lead into the half. Moss scored twice and Kelly picked up a goal during this stretch.
