HARROGATE, Tenn. -- The Lady Railsplitter lacrosse team (3-8, 0-4 SAC) saw their second half lead over Brevard (7-4, 3-3 SAC) evaporate as they fell to the Tornados in a heartbreaker 11-10 Sunday afternoon.
Amara Moss (Woodbridge, Va.) led LMU with five goals. Jasmine Click (Clermont, FL) had 2 goals while

Bre'Asia James (Vero Beach, Fla.) and
Casey Kelly (Ellenwood, Ga.) added in a goal each.

Brevard outshot LMU 34-27 while the Lady Railsplitters held the advantage in saves (13-10) and draws (12-10). Both teams picked up 22 ground balls apiece.
Goals by Hoskins and Moss 16 seconds apart gave LMU the early 2-0 lead. A Siu goal followed by three goals from Nemeth put the Tornados up 4-2 with 13:43 remaining. Goals by Click and Moss tied things up at 4-4 before Nemeth rolled off two more goals to put Brevard up 6-4 late in the first half. LMU would fight back with a goal by Kelly with 1:13 left in the half and another goal by James as time expired that tied the game at 6-6.
The score would quickly go to 7-7 as BC's Kearnan and LMU's Click both notched a goal early in the second half. LMU would then go up by two, 9-7, following goals by Click and Moss. After neither team scored for several minutes, Nemeth took advantage of a LMU yellow card to score the woman-up goal with 16:17 left in the game, followed by another goal a little over a minute later to tie the score 9-9. Nemeth would have a hand in Brevard's next two goals as she assisted McMillan on Brevard's 10th goal and scored their 11th goal 30 seconds later with 6:55 left.
LMU then won the draw but turned the ball over and Brevard went into a stall offense. After a Tornado shot was blocked, LMU grabbed possession and went down the field where Moss scored with 4:26 remaining. Brevard then won the draw and again went into a stall offense. The Lady Railsplitters forced a turnover with 33 seconds left, but then turned the ball over while trying to pass it down the field and the Tornados held on for the 11-10 win.
LMU next plays on Wednesday evening at North Greenville.
