Notes on the Lady Railsplitters:

- Lincoln Memorial faced off against the Pioneers of Tusculum on Wednesday at the LMU Soccer Complex and, despite a solid first half defensively and a pressure-packed attack in the second half, dropped a 2-0 decision. Tusculum - powered to victory with goals in the 36th and 68th minutes from Carlie Thornber and Ellie Tomassoni - outshot the Lady Railsplitters 25-14 and used an array of set-piece chances to swing dangerous balls into the box. Lincoln Memorial outshot the Pioneers 11-9 in the second half, but a defensive lapse on Tomassoni's goal broke the Lady Railsplitters' backs and sealed their fate.
-In Wednesday's match, the Lady Railsplitters got a solid effort in goal from sophomore Brooke Taylor (White Pine, Tenn.), who made a career-high nine saves through 70 minutes of action to keep Lincoln Memorial within striking distance. Offensively, the Lady Railsplitters were anchored by freshman defender Jacquelyn Christoph (Eatonville, Wash.), who had a career-high five shots, with two landing on target. Junior defender Gabby Garcia (Aurora, Colo.) and junior midfielder Melissa Carpenter (Jacksonville, Fla.) each had two shots with one shot on goal apiece.
-The Lady Railsplitters are still trying to find some semblance of offensive production this season, as they have only converted three goals in six games on 67 total shots. Carpenter, sophomore forward Caroline Souza (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and freshman forward Kaitlyn Tisch (Tacoma, Wash.) have accounted for a goal apiece for the Lady Railsplitters, but no other player has been able to find the back of the net thus far. Lincoln Memorial is averaging just 11.2 shots and 4.5 shots on goal per match. In addition to that, the Lady Railsplitters' .045 shot percentage is the lowest mark in the SAC by a wide margin, as Wingate is second-to-last with a .097 mark, but has lofted up 113 shots.
-The Lady Railsplitters will look to avoid their worst start to a season since the 2003 team opened with a 1-6 mark. That team went on to finish with a 7-11 mark. This year's group will have to make up the difference on the road. After Saturday's match, six of Lincoln Memorial's final eight matches will be played away from the LMU Soccer Complex.
-The Lady Railsplitters have yet to tally multiple goals in a match this season and, dating back to the 2015 campaign, have gone 10 consecutive matches without doing so. The Lady Railsplitters last scored multiple goals in a 4-1 win at Coker on October 17, 2015.

Notes on the Bears:

- The Lenoir-Rhyne Bears arrive in Harrogate after suffering a 3-2 loss to Catawba on Wednesday, falling to 3-2-2 overall and 0-1-1 in SAC play. The Bears outshot Catawba 19-9 in that match, but the Indians scored in the ninth minute and added another in the 86th minute to steal the victory. The Lady Railsplitters and Bears share one common opponent in Tusculum, who Lenoir-Rhyne played to a 2-2 draw despite holding a 2-0 edge with 13 minutes left in regulation.
-Lenoir-Rhyne has been pretty solid on the offensive end this season, scoring 13 goals total with 1.86 per match. More than 50 percent of the Bears' shot attempts have landed on target, as Lenoir-Rhyne has 54 shots on goal with 102 total shot attempts. L-R has also produced more than six corner kicks per match, as they lead the league with 45 total corners this season.
- Lenoir-Rhyne is paced offensively by freshman forward Hannah Van Eerden, who leads the team with three goals, 18 total shots and a ridiculous 15 shots on goal. Along with Van Eerden, the Bears have received offensive contributions from senior forward Kendall Smith (two goals, two assists on 16 shots), senior defender Jessica Feronti (one goal, three assists on 11 shots) and freshman forward Maialen Herreros (two goals on eight shots).
-Senior Andrea Leano has played every minute in goal for the Bears this season, compiling 670 total minutes of action. Over that span, Leano has conceded 10 goals on 66 shots against while making 21 saves, good for a 1.34 goals against average. She ranks 12th in the SAC with a .677 save percentage.
-The Bears are 1-1-1 on the road this season: a 2-0 loss, a 2-1 win at Lynn and a 2-2 draw at Tusculum. In those three contests, L-R is averaging 1.33 goals per while allowing 1.55.

Series History:

-Lincoln Memorial and Lenoir-Rhyne have met 13 times previously, and the Bears hold the all-time advantage 8-5 over the Lady Railsplitters. LMU has won two of the last three meetings, though, including a 2-0 victory in the 2013 SAC Championship over then No. 16 nationally-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne.
-Lenoir-Rhyne handed the Lady Railsplitters a 3-1 loss in last season's meeting in Hickory, N.C., as three of the game's four goals were scored within the first seven minutes of the game. Josefin Hedstrom's seventh-minute tally proved to be the only offensive output for the Lady Railsplitters in the match.
