HARROGATE, Tenn. – Fourth-seeded Lincoln Memorial (9-3-3, 4-3-3 SAC) hosts fifth-seeded Mars Hill (5-7-2, 4-4-2 SAC) in a South Atlantic Conference tournament quarterfinal match Tuesday at the LMU Soccer complex. The winner will advance to the semifinal match on Friday, November 3 in Rock Hill, South Carolina to play the winner between top-seeded Wingate and eighth-seeded Newberry.
LMU defeated Catawba 4-1 Saturday in Knoxville, Tennessee while the Lions lost at home to Anderson 2-1. The Railsplitters' win, paired with Mars Hill's loss, gave Lincoln Memorial the fourth seed and home-field advantage for the quarterfinal match. Mars Hill won the teams' regular-season matchup in Harrogate 1-0 less than two weeks ago.

Caleb Cothrin returned to action Saturday after missing four matches. The duo of Cothrin and
Caio Bergamo combined for six shutouts, a 0.94 goals against average and .815 save percentage.
- Lincoln Memorial's 1.93 goals per game average ranked third in the conference behind Wingate and Carson-Newman, who finished atop the standings. The team finished tied for fourth with 16 goals in SAC play—15 of which were scored at home. Ten of those goals came in wins over Newberry and Catawba, while the other six came in the team's other eight conference matches. LMU scored 29 total goals and scored multiple times in nine of 15 matches.
- The Railsplitter defense was solid all season and finished third in the SAC with a 0.94 goals against average. LMU hasn't allowed more than one goal in any of its past ten matches and did so only once in ten SAC games.
Know the Opponent
- Mars Hill was the SAC's lowest-scoring team during the regular season with just 14 goals in 14 games. The Lions were also the only SAC team to average fewer than ten shots per game (9.5) and attempted 14 fewer corner kicks than anyone else.
- The Lions did not score more than two goals in any game and only scored more than one goal four times. Nine of the team's ten conference matches were decided by one goal or ended in a draw.
- Jordan Lennon and Stian Sanner led the team with four goals apiece. Sanner scored in the 88
th minute in Mars Hill's 1-0 win over the Railsplitters on October 18. Joakin Lien added three goals. Only three other Lions found the back of the net.
- Sanner, Lennon, Sam Roe and Oscar Mitchell were the only Lions to attempt at least one shot per game. No one averaged one shot on goal per game, as Sanner led the team with 11 in 14 games. Mars Hill only outshot opponents twice in 14 games.
- Ben Lucas has started every game in goal and racked up the second-most minutes played in the SAC. He finished seventh in the SAC with a .759 save percentage and ninth with a 1.30 goals against average. He made the second-most saves at 60.
