Box Score 2 TUCSON, Ariz. – The Lady Railsplitters (6-2) combined for 21 runs to win both games on day two of the Cactus Classic on Saturday at Lincoln Park. Lincoln Memorial scored early and often in an 8-2 win over Fort Lewis in the morning game before bashing the University of Mary 13-3 in five innings in the afternoon game.
The Lady Railsplitters' offensive explosion was a welcome sight, as they had scored just two runs combined in the three previous game and were shutout by No. 2 West Texas A&M on Friday afternoon.
Lincoln Memorial returns to Harrogate and Dorothy Neely Field on Wednesday to host Lee for a nonconference doubleheader at 1 p.m.
Game One: Lincoln Memorial 8, Fort Lewis 2
Kelsie Hocutt (Wendell, N.C.) was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with two doubles and two RBI to lead a 13-hit outburst for the Lady Railsplitters.
Dakotah Fraley (Walkersville, Md.) and
Jennifer Moose (Statesville, N.C.) combined to go 4-for-7 at the top of the order with three runs scored, while

Teddi Collins (Germantown, Ohio) added two hits apiece.
Freshman
Justice Smith (Rockmart, Ga.) bounced back from a short-lived outing against the Academy of Art by allowing just five hits and two runs while posting a career-high 10 strikeouts in a complete game. Smith retired 10 of the last 11 batters she faced to improve to 3-1 on the season.
The Railsplitters scored in five of the seven innings and took the lead right from the jump, as Hocutt drove in a run in the top of the first on a double to right field.
Lincoln Memorial pulled comfortably ahead in the top of the third inning, scoring three runs on three hits. One of five Fort Lewis errors in the game plated the first run of that inning, while Hocutt and Goins also recorded RBI knocks in the frame to make it 4-0.
Fort Lewis accounted for both of its runs in the bottom of the fourth on a two-out, two-run double by Mandy Owens, but the Lady Railsplitters erased that with two runs of their own in the top of the fifth. Goins drove in the first with a single before scoring on another Skyhawks error.
BriAnna Schrimpf (Chandler, Ariz.) made it an 8-2 game in the top of the sixth with an RBI single to left field, which scored Moose.
The Lady Railsplitters roughed up Fort Lewis starter Madison Stanich, who allowed 13 hits over seven innings of work. Her fielders didn't do her any favors, though, committing five errors that led to five unearned runs.
Adriana Rosthenhausler was the only Fort Lewis player with multiple hits in the contest, going 2-for-3 with a pair of singles at the top of the order.
Game Two: Lincoln Memorial 13, University of Mary 3 (5 innings)
