Quick Hits:

-The Railsplitters will be returning to the court for the first time in 12 days. Lincoln Memorial last played on March 17, pulling out a five-set win (25-22, 25-19, 19-25, 23-25, 15-10) against Limestone in the Mary Mars Gym finale. After jumping out to a 2-0 lead and quickly giving it away, the Railsplitters hit .333 and held the visiting Saints to a -.154 clip in the decisive fifth frame to finish the inaugural season with an 8-5 record in Harrogate.

-That was Lincoln Memorial's seventh five-set match of the season, and the gritty Railsplitters moved to 5-2 in those contests with the victory.

-Evan Cory powered the Railsplitters in that win over Limestone with a career-high 24 kills on a .455 attack percentage, which was just a tad shy of his career-best .467 effort against Bluefield on January 25. With 24 kills, he shattered his previous career-high by 10. He had 14 kills against both Emmanuel (March 3) and Lees-McRae (January 27).

-Cory is one of three Railsplitters with over 170 kills and averaging more than 2.50 kills per set. Joshua Riblett, who didn't play against Limestone, has 218 kills and leads the team with 3.36 kills per frame, while Pedro Carvalho has accounted for 178 kills with 2.71 per set on a team-leading .324 attack percentage.

-The Railsplitters have more than three times as many service errors (361) as service aces (116) this season. Lincoln Memorial produced three aces with 12 errors in its loss to Quincy on March 16, and had seven aces with 16 miscues against Limestone.

-Lincoln Memorial's win over Limestone was just its second in the last seven appearances and snapped a three-match losing. Bryan served as the Railsplitters' only other win during that stretch, as LMU defeated the Lions in four sets at Mary Mars Gym on March 7. Riblett led the Railsplitters in that contest with 12 kills despite sitting out the first set. Carvalho had eight kills on a .375 attack percentage, while Cory contributed four kills, 23 assists, four aces and six digs.

-Next weekend, the Railsplitters will head to Hartsville, South Carolina for the Independent Volleyball Association Tournament, which is being hosted by Coker April 7-9.

Notes on the Lions:

-Bryan's only two wins this season have come against Bluefield, who is 0-18 and has played just one match that has lasted longer than three sets.

-Will Stokes and Nathaniel Shadoan combined for 23 of Bryan's 34 kills in the first meeting against Lincoln Memorial. Stokes led all players in the match with 13, but also had 10 errors. Shadoan produced 10 kills with seven errors, as that duo also combined for 17 of the team's 30 attack miscues. Martin Livingston was the only other player with more than three kills, adding five with seven errors.

-Nick Scully contributed 26 assists to lead all players in that department, and also matched Livingston for the team-high mark with six digs. Four different player produced as least five digs for the Lions in the contest, as Shadoan and Karleman Casebolt chipped in five apiece.
