HARROGATE, Tenn. – Lincoln Memorial University's men's volleyball team (3-2) won its third straight match to tie a program record and moved to above .500 for the first time ever with a 3-0 thrashing of Brewton-Parker (0-2). The Railsplitters never trailed against an overmatched Barons squad that was playing just its second game in program history and finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-9 and 25-6.
LMU set team program records with a .571 attack percentage and 17 service aces. Nine Railsplitters registered at least one kill led by
Evan Cory's eight.
Lucas Kerley added five in his LMU debut, while four other players contributed three apiece. All six Railsplitters that totaled at least three kills hit at least .500.
NyJaee Washington tied a program individual record with four service aces.
Lincoln Memorial totaled 29 kills to just five errors. Meanwhile, Brewton-Parker accumulated just eight kills and hit -.132. Robbie Leever led the way with five kills, though no Baron hit above .000.
The Railsplitters face a much stiffer test when they conclude their four-game homestand Tuesday against King at 7 p.m. back at Mary Mars Gymnasium.
