HARROGATE, Tenn. – The first four weeks of the 2018-19 Lincoln Memorial University men's basketball season are in the books. Here's an in-depth look at everything happening right now for the Railsplitters.

Railsplitters Rolling

Since falling at Christian Brothers on November 17, Lincoln Memorial has been on an absolute tear, stringing together four straight dominant wins, including a 90-68 triumph over undefeated Carson-Newman in the South Atlantic Conference opener last Wednesday at Tex Turner Arena. The Railsplitters also crushed Coker 99-72 on Saturday to move to 2-0 in SAC play.

LMU has won its last four games by margins of 50, 10, 22 and 27, respectively. Despite that, the Railsplitters remain out of the national rankings and were slotted at No. 6 in the most recent D2SIDA Southeast Region poll.

36 Straight SAC Wins

The Railsplitters are 2-0 in conference play and have now won 36 straight regular-season SAC games, which stands as the longest conference winning streak in the nation. Lincoln Memorial has not lost a regular-season SAC game since falling at Queens 103-101 in overtime on January 9, 2017.

Taylor Hits 1,000 Points

Redshirt-junior Cornelius Taylor orchestrated the Railsplitters' 99-72 win over Coker on Saturday with a virtuoso performance, scoring a career-high 34 points on 10-of-17 shooting while burying seven three-pointers.

With his 26th point of the night, he became the 30th LMU men's player to reach the 1,000-point mark for his career and the 11th of the Josh Schertz era.

Taylor should shoot quickly up the all-time scoring list as he sits a little over 200 points out of the top 20. He has 1,008 career points, while Danny Gibbs (1969-73) is ranked 20th with 1,225.

Brown Making Plays

Junior guard Anthony Brown has been sensational over his last four games, averaging 15.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 6.7 assists per game while shooting well over 50 percent. Brown has yet to commit a turnover in a SAC game while combining for 13 assists in wins over Carson-Newman and Coker.

He is currently ranked third in the SAC in assist-to-turnover ratio, eighth in total assists and seventh in defensive boards with 38. On top of that, Brown is 12th in the conference with 10 steals.

Statistically Speaking

The Railsplitters are atop the SAC statistical rankings in a several key categories, including three-pointers made per game with 12.1, defensive rebounds per game with 34.1, rebounds per game with 46.4 and opponent field-goal percentage with a 37.8 percent mark.

Lincoln Memorial is also ranked second in the league in blocks per game with 4.6, points per game allowed with 70.9 and assists per game with 17.6, and third in points per game with 87.0.

Ready for Royals

The Railsplitters will take their four-game winning streak on this road on Saturday when they face No. 21/16 Queens in a highly-anticipated rematch of both the 2018 SAC tournament championship and NCAA Division II Southeast Regional championship games.

Both Lincoln Memorial and Queens are 2-0 in SAC play, while the Royals are riding a three-game winning streak of their own.

Young Pups Finding Their Footing

The Railsplitters' young core of rotation players has started to find its rhythm.

Freshman swing Courvoisier McCauley has scored seven points or more in three of his last four appearances, including a career-high 14-point effort against Coker. Freshman point guard Julius Brown has hit double figures in three of his six appearances and had 10 against Coker. Freshman Ricky Clark has at least five points in back-to-back games while providing lockdown defense on the perimeter.

In total, four true freshmen have appeared in at least five games so far this season.
