WANTAGH, N.Y. – Six different players scored multiple goals to power the Lincoln Memorial men's lacrosse team to a 17-4 win over the Dominican Chargers on Saturday afternoon at Wantagh High School. The win helped the Railsplitters (4-1) start with victories in four of their first five matches for the second consecutive season while also Dominican (0-1) opened its 2018 campaign on a sour note.
The Railsplitters never trailed in the contest, opening on a 4-0 run before outscoring the Chargers 6-0 in the second quarter to carry a 10-2 lead into the break. Lincoln Memorial nearly replicated that effort in the second half, outscoring Dominican 3-1 in the third before finishing the match with another 4-0 scoring run to complete the wire-to-wire victory.
Lincoln Memorial outshot the Chargers 38-25 and went 15-for-22 at the face-off x. On top of that, the Railsplitters recovered 32 groundballs compared to 23 for Dominican. Lincoln Memorial also won the turnover battle 21-15 and was nearly perfect on clearances with a 20-for-22 effort.
Kyle Arcuri handing out four assists to lead the Railsplitters in points. He assisted on two of LMU's first four goals during that 4-0 opening run.
Adam Golia continued his strong play with a 2-goal, 1-assist effort, while
Khanan Bodley scored a team-leading three goals.
Robert Tucker,
Billy Kopsky,
Jared Courchene and
Nick Borriello also scored two goals apiece, while
Anthony Teresky tallied two assists.
Michael Reyes paced the Chargers with two goals and eight shot attempts. Ryan Wiberly and Lorcan Teahan accounted for the only other goals for Dominican.
Freshman
Michael Kessler picked up the win after making three saves and allowing two goals in the first half. He gave way to
Jeffrey Handman and
Kyle Deriemacker over the final 30 minutes. Handman led the team with six saves in 22:43 of work, while Deriemacker didn't allow a goal and made a save over the final 7:17.
Dylan Neisler,
Chad Walters,
Tylor Justin and
Reggie Golfin also added goals for the Railsplitters in the victory.

- The Railsplitters had three different scoring runs of 4-0 or longer in the match. That was highlighted by a 7-0 flurry that began with 13:46 left in the second and ended on Dominican's third goal of the match with 11:17 left in the third.
- Saturday marked Lincoln Memorial's second trip to the Northeast portion of the country. The Railsplitters beat Georgian Court 16-10 in New Jersey in 2016.
- Golia pushed his South Atlantic Conference-leading point total to 35 in the victory. He also extended his SAC-lead for goals and assists to 22 and 13, respectively.
