Quick Hits

-Through 10 nonconference games so far, the Lady Railsplitters (9-1) have created quite the identity. LMU leads the South Atlantic Conference defensively by a long shot — catching six runners attempting to steal, good for a .750 runner-caught-stealing percentage.

-Offensively, LMU paces the SAC with the most runs (94), doubles (31), RBI (82) and the most stolen bases without being caught (14). The Lady Railsplitters are second in batting average (.366) and have the second-fewest strikeouts (26).

-After a perfect 5-for-5 effort from the plate with a triple and two home runs in a doubleheader sweep of Milligan College Tuesday, Ty-Kella Goins leads her team and is in a five-way tie for third place in the conference with a .500 batting average. Her four runs scored in the second game put her in a tie for second-most in program history.

-Also in the SAC rankings, the Lady Railsplitters have three players in the top 10 in RBI: McKenzie Henry is in a three-way tie for third (14), while Kelsie Hocutt is in a three-way tie for seventh (12) and Goins is tied for 10th (10).

-The Lady Railsplitters have their eyes set on continuing their undefeated streak, which began Feb. 10 after an 8-11 loss to Maryville University the day before, to 10 straight with a sweep of the Lions.

-In the circle, Bailey Griffith (5-0) has led the Lady Railsplitters with a 2.07 ERA in 27 innings pitched and three shutouts. Justice Smith (2-0) follows with a 3.20 ERA through 19.2 innings pitched, and Faith Howe (2-1) is next as the freshman has a 5.37 ERA in 14.1 innings.

-Since dropping a doubleheader at Carson-Newman Feb. 1, Young Harris (7-3) has won the next seven of eight games. The Mountain Lions' lone loss was the first game of a doubleheader at North Greenville this past Saturday as they fell 4-8. Young Harris then knocked NGU off in run-rule fashion, winning 10-2 in six innings.

-In every game played and started, Emily Harris leads the Mountain Lions with a .342 batting average, while Carly Rigsbee (.320) is next and Morgan Curley (.296).

-Jill Torres has played in every game — starting nine — and despite a .192 batting average, she leads the Mountain Lions with their only home runs (2) and 10 RBI.

-Defensively, the Mountain Lions are slightly better than the Lady Railsplitters with a .966 fielding percentage compared to their .961. From a stolen base standpoint, Young Harris has been caught once in six attempts.

-In the circle, Nikkie Kovalsky (5-3) has been the Mountain Lions' ace. She's struck out nearly one batter per her 47 innings pitched with 46 strikeouts and a 1.49 ERA.

-Behind her is Louisa Disi (4.2 IP, 0.00 ERA) and Kennedy Kotula (6.2 IP, 5.25), who both have a 1-0 record.

Head-to-Head

-This will be the first time Young Harris has ever traveled to Harrogate, Tenn., for a matchup with the Lady Railsplitters. Of the previous five games, dating back to 2012, three have been at a neutral site (1-2) while the Mountain Lions have hosted the other two (1-1).

-In both of the Lady Railsplitters' wins, LMU allowed Young Harris to score three runs, winning 6-3 in 2015 and 4-3 last year in the doubleheader split.
