LOUISVILLE, Ky.– This Wednesday, the Lincoln Memorial Softball team was announced as the top Division II team in Team GPA by Easton/NFCA. The team finished the year with a 3.853 GPA, including 17 of 21 players who ended the year with a 3.5 or higher GPA. No player ended the year below a 3.3 GPA. The Railsplitters ranked sixth among all divisions and were one of 14 teams to garner a 3.8 or higher at the end of the year.

"I'm so proud of this group of girls who achieved this. For them to win the SAC Championship on the field and also win a prestigious honor like this for their work in the classroom is remarkable. They truly exemplify the meaning of student-athlete," said Head Coach Ritchie Richardson when told his team claimed this honor.

The rankings and honors recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association's membership categories. NCAA Division I led the way with 2,637 student-athletes earning a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for 2025-26. NCAA Division III followed with 2,493, and NCAA Division II with 1,869. Junior colleges and NAIA came in with 1,190 and 655 student-athletes, respectively. Seven student-athletes from Bay Path University earned recognition in the Other Four-Year category.
