Harogate, TN -- Lincoln Memorial senior infielder Hannah McMeen has been named the First Century Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week. A standout member of the tremendous women's South Atlantic Conference championship softball team from last season, McMeen arrived at Lincoln Memorial in the fall of 2023. She delivered three strong undergraduate seasons on the field while earning her Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science, and she will start this spring for her fourth season as a graduate student in Lincoln Memorial's Master of Business Administration in General Business program.
McMeen has maintained an extraordinary academic standard throughout her collegiate career. She attained a 4.0 grade point average every semester at Lincoln Memorial, making the Dean's List for six consecutive semesters while earning recognition as an A.B. E. scholar. Her scholastic dedication has been honored with the Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award two years in a row, along with placements on the South Atlantic Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll from 2024 to 2026. Additionally, she earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association Academic All-America recognition in 2025 and 2026, and was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team in 2026.
Her excellence on the diamond matched her success in the classroom during a stellar athletic campaign. Over 83 career games and 75 starts, McMeen posted a career .302 batting average, collecting 70 hits, 51 runs scored, 10 doubles, seven triples, five home runs, and 47 runs batted in while generating a .470 slugging percentage and a .386 on-base percentage. Her breakout 2025 season saw her hit .337 with six triples, three home runs, and 22 runs batted in, which she followed in 2026 with a .310 average, seven doubles, two home runs, and 18 runs batted in. Her key contributions earned her selection to the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association All-Region Second Team, the 2026 South Atlantic Conference All-Tournament Team, and a championship title with the softball program.
Beyond her athletic and academic achievements, McMeen is a deeply committed campus leader and community volunteer. She is a member of Chi Alpha Sigma, the Exercise Science club, and Baptist Collegiate Ministries, while currently serving as the secretary for both the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. With her team, she has dedicated time to events like Clay's 4 Kids and local softball skills camps. Her extensive service efforts extend into the surrounding community through volunteer work with Shepard's Closet, Room at the Inn, the Claiborne County animal shelter, Journey Home, mission trips to South Dakota, and coaching youth, high school, and travel softball teams.
