HARROGATE, Tenn. – A rebound and put-back by Coker's Erin Houser in the final 99 seconds followed by free throws down the stretch allowed Coker to escape the Tex Turner Arena with the 45-41 win in a frustratingly low scoring contest.
The Lady Railsplitters are now 6-10 overall and 5-7 in SAC play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Coker opened the game with nine unanswered points before LMU got on the board with a
Sydney Newsome free throw with 5:31 remaining in the period.
• The Lady Railsplitters rallied to cut the lead to 15-8 at the end of the first quarter and four points by Newsome midway through the second pulled them to 19-18.
• LMU cut the lead to one with 3:39 remaining in the half, but Coker extended the lead back to five and led 25-21 at the half.
• The third quarter saw both teams' offenses dry up as LMU outscored Coker 10-4 for the stanza, taking a two point lead heading into the fourth quarter.
• A
Lexi Kiser three gave LMU their largest lead of the game, 34-29, to open the fourth quarter.
• LMU then went cold from the field, only hitting one jump shot for the remainder of the game. Despite that, Coker only held a 39-38 lead before Erin Houser missed a pull-up jumper just inside the free throw line, but grabbed the rebound and put it back in to put Coker ahead by three with 21 seconds remaining.
• Coker then fouled on the ensuing inbounds pass to deny LMU a three-point opportunity, and Kiser drained both free throws, cutting the lead to 41-40. She then fouled to stop the clock, and CU's Amanda Cherry hit both free throws.
• Again, Coker fouled to deny a game-tying three pointer. LMU hit both free throws and Coker grabbed the rebound, but
Lauren Flowers tied up the ball and LMU had the possession arrow in their favor.
• The Cobras then fouled LMU, who made one of two and were forced to foul to stop the clock again, this time with 4 second left. Raya Coley then hit both free throws to seal the win for the Cobras.
