#24 Trojans Second Half Surge Puts Away Lady Railsplitters

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The Lincoln Memorial University women's lacrosse team completed their road trip in North Carolina with a contest against the no. 24 University of Mount Olive Trojans on Monday evening.

LADY RAILSPLITTER RUNDOWN:
Freshman attack Ali Van der Ziel started the game with scoring the fastest-goal to begin a game in program history, nine seconds after the first whistle for a quick 1-0 lead.

Over the next three minutes, Mount Olive responded with three quick goals until junior attack Erin DePaul found the back of the net at the 24-minute mark (24:46) to post a 2-3 score in favor of the Trojans.

Sophomore attack Kelly Csenar kept the game within reach with two successful strikes at goal to span over the majority of the first half. LMU converted on four-of-six shots over the first half to go into the break sitting at a 4-9 deficit.

In the meantime, Mount Olive took advantage of their free-position opportunities with executing on seven-of-twelve chances throughout the contest. UMO posted four free-position goals, one of which was a man-up advantage in the first half. The Trojans of Mount Olive tightened the clamps on LMU with allowing only one shot in the second half for the Lady Railsplitters that was blocked, keeping them off the scoreboard for the rest of the contest.

THE KEEPERS:
UMO – Ciara Moorman record three saves on eight shots faced, allowing four goals.
LMU – Junior Micayla Starnes totaled a dozen saves on the evening on 35 shots faced.
