INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Lincoln Memorial University women's lacrosse team closed their week of competition at no. 12/9 University of Indianapolis on Sunday afternoon.
LADY RAILSPLITTER RUNDOWN:
The hosting Greyhounds ran for 13-straight goals throughout the first 26 minutes and 40 seconds of play. Lady Railsplitter sophomore midfielder Avery Van der Ziel notched an unassisted goal with 3:40 remaining in the opening leg of action.
Over the second stanza of play, the Greyhounds rallied for another double-digit run to close out the contest on Sunday against the Lady Railsplitters.
THE KEEPERS:
UINDY – Cassidy King marked a victory after 41:31 minutes of play for the Greyhounds allowing the lone goal of the game and recording a pair of saves. Clare Difato closed the contest with one save in the final 18:29 minutes of play.
LMU – Junior
Micayla Starnes accounted for six saves and allowed 19 goals on the afternoon. Freshman
Keegan Gillman concluded the game for the Lady Railsplitters with four goals against and a save.
TEAM STATS:
LMU recorded eight ground balls, seven draw controls, five shots, three successful clears and one free-position shot on the afternoon in Indianapolis.
HISTORICALLY SPEAKING:
After today's contest at University of Indianapolis, the Lady Railsplitters fall to 0-2 against the Greyhounds in all-time head-to-head matchups.
