Women's Soccer Falls at No. 7 Catawba

SALISBURY, N.C. – The Lincoln Memorial University women's soccer team faced the league leaders of the South Atlantic Conference and the No. 7 team in the nation, Catawba Saturday afternoon, falling to the Indians 3-0.
 
The Lady Railsplitters conceded two goals in the opening ten minutes of action in the Tar Heel State Saturday afternoon against one of the premier opponents in the nation for DII. LMU then held the No. 7 Indians scoreless for the ensuing 70 minutes of play, before allowing one final goal that wrapped up the fixture in the 80th minute.
 
Freshman forward Emily Rodriguez earned her first-career collegiate start Saturday afternoon, as sophomore goalkeeper Isabelle Zukaitis faced eight shots on goal, saving a total of five.
 
LMU (6-5-2) fell to seventh-place following the loss at Catawba in the SAC standings, staying at a total of 13 points. The Lady Railsplitters maintain a one-point advantage over Newberry and a 6-point advantage over Anderson.
 
The Blue & Grey return to Harrogate next Saturday afternoon to celebrate senior night vs. Anderson. The Lady Railsplitters will complete their regular season schedule the following Wednesday (Nov. 3) at Limestone.
