Men’s Basketball Reveals 2021-22 Schedule

Lincoln Memorial Men’s Basketball to take on three teams who received a bid to the 2021 NCAA Tournament

HARROGATE, Tenn. – Just 36 days separate the perennial power, Lincoln Memorial men's basketball, and their start to the 2021-22 season. The Railsplitters' full 28-game schedule was announced Thursday morning and features three NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Championship selections and 14 home contests.
 
"We are thrilled to finally announce our 21-22 season schedule," said head coach Jeremiah Samarrippas. "Playing in one of the toughest conferences in the country will require us to play at high level every game. We have great balance throughout our roster with a mix of veterans and new players that are eager to leave their own mark on our program. Each year our program takes pride in playing together and unselfish, which will continue to be the force that drives our players. We're approaching this season with a chip on our shoulder and an immense amount of confidence on what we're capable of accomplishing together. Having Tex Turner Arena back at full capacity is exciting for our players and fans while providing one of the nation's best atmospheres makes every home game special."
 
A reigning Final Four participant, the Railsplitters will open the 2021-22 season on the road in Morrow, Georgia at Clayton State on Friday, November before staying the night in the Peach State to play USC Aiken in a neutral contest at Clayton State on Saturday, November 13.
 
Four days later, Lincoln Memorial will open South Atlantic Conference play with their home opener on Wednesday, November 17 against Anderson. Completing out the home portion of the schedule, beginning with a three-game homestand with Catawba (Nov. 23), Coker (Nov. 27) and a non-conference contest with Erskine (Dec. 1). Before closing out 2021, the Railsplitters will welcome UVA Wise to Harrogate on Wednesday, December 15. In 2022, Lincoln Memorial will play host to Newberry (Jan. 5), Lenoir-Rhyne (Jan. 8), Limestone (Jan. 12), Mars Hill (Jan. 15), Carson-Newman (Jan. 26), Wingate (Jan. 29), Carver Bible College (Feb. 9), Tusculum (Feb. 16) and Queens (Feb. 19). The Railsplitters went a perfect 13-0 inside Tex Turner Arena last season, marking the 11th undefeated home season in program history.
 
Lincoln Memorial will take on the 13-team league twice on the season and will get road conference play started on Saturday, November 20 at Wingate before heading just an hour away on Saturday, December 4 to Greeneville, Tennessee to battle the Tusculum Pioneers. The Railsplitters will close out 2021 with road contests at Mars Hill (Dec. 11) and Queens (Dec. 18) before playing on the road in 2022 at Lenoir-Rhyne (Jan. 1), UVA Wise (Jan. 19), Catawba (Jan. 22), Anderson (Feb. 2), Coker (Feb. 5), Newberry (Feb. 12), Carson-Newman (Feb. 23) and Limestone (Feb. 26).
 
The quarterfinals of the 2022 SAC Tournament is scheduled for Wednesday, March 2 with the higher seed playing host, followed by the conference tournament semifinals and championship game from Saturday, March 5 to Sunday, March 6 in Greeneville, South Carolina.
 
NCAA postseason play will begin in mid-March with the 2021 NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Southeast Regional Championship hosted by the regional's highest seed. The 2021 NCAA Division II Elite Eight, which is set to be played Wednesday-Saturday, March 24-27, will crown a national champion at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana.
