HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Lincoln Memorial women's volleyball team completed their two-game road trip with a four-set victory (25-13, 21-25, 25-21, 25-16) over Coker on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Railsplitters were led by sophomore
Ketura Margaret who tallied 12 kills in the match while Kirsten Moehring added seven kills while hitting .368 in the contest. Senior
Emily Walter tallied her fifth double-double with 18 assists and 10 digs. Senior
Sierrah Lemons had a career day as she recorded new career-highs in kills (nine) and total blocks (eight) in the match. Libero
Sevgi Koyuncu recorded 25 digs in the contest, making in it the fifth match she has had 20 or more digs.
Coker was led by Taylor Parker on the offensive side of the net as she tallied 11 kills in 39 attacks, while Chelsey Blume followed suite with nine kills with a .227 hitting percentage. The Cobra defense was led by Loveday who recorded 16 digs in the contest.
Lincoln Memorial opened the match with a 3-0 lead, but the Cobras were able to match that just moments later. The Lady Railsplitters then broke out offensively, running to a 7-4 lead. Coker responded, but LMU was able to rally a second time with a six-point run to make it 22-12, before closing out the set with a win, 25-13.
The Cobras fought back in the second set, evening things up at 5-5 before a back-and-forth affair made it 15 at the halfway point. Coker was able to capitalize on the LMU mishaps and used a five-point run to create separation onto a second set win, 25-21.
Coming into the third set, the Lady Railsplitters were on fire, taking an early 7-4 lead. Using a three-point run to gain some ground on the Lady Railsplitters, the Cobras were able to make it a 8-7 favor of LMU, but using a seven-point run to make it 20-11. The Cobras tried to mount a comeback, but the Lady Railsplitters were able to hold on as they took set three, 25-21.
Much like the second, the fourth set got out to a battle up till the score was tied at 10-10. It was then Lincoln Memorial was able to use a five-point run to create some separation. That wound up to be the ultimatum as the Lady Railsplitters were able to limit the Cobra offensive output in the later half of the set to capture the fourth set, and match, 25-16.

The Lady Railsplitters will return to Mary Mars Gymnasium on Wednesday, October 13 as the King University Tornado will come to Harrogate. First serve is set for 7 p.m. EST.
