DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Lincoln Memorial University men's bowling team placed first overall at this weekend's Clarke Invitational, clinching their third tournament victory of the 2021-22 season.
The Railsplitters topped Saturday's qualifying standings in Iowa, finishing with a total pinfall pf 5,141. LMU finished qualifying in first over Iowa Central Community College who had a pinfall of 4,861, followed by Hawkeye CC, Grand View University, Clarke University, Culver-Stockton College, Wartburg College, Upper Iowa University, Coe College and Northern Iowa.
The Blue & Grey continued their run of form into Sunday's match play, where LMU again could not be denied and wrapped up the Clarke Invitational championship. The Railsplitters have now won three total events during the 2021-22 campaign, previously victorious at the Cardinal Classic and the Lincoln Memorial Collegiate Challenge.
Senior
Ian Friesner led LMU all weekend long, finishing second overall in the individual standings with a total pinfall of 1,103 through five games bowled.
UP NEXT…
The Railsplitters will have a couple weeks of rest following their third tournament victory, and then will head to the Hoosier Classic on Feb. 19 in Indianapolis.
