Lady Railsplitters in Seventh at Spring Kickoff

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Lincoln Memorial University women's golf program welcomed a 17-team field to the South Hampton Golf Club for the annual Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate, finishing square in the middle of the pack following day one action, sitting in seventh-place.

Second round play was suspended in the Sunshine State around 6:15 p.m. on Monday evening, as action will resume sharply at 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning. Defending SAC champion Limestone take a commanding 27-stroke lead in the final day of the Spring Kickoff. The Lady Railsplitters 333-team first round score was less than 20 strokes off the top-two of the tournament, as LMU sit currently sit at 250 as a team with only a few holes remaining in the second round action.

Two big names from last fall in the lineup, Lauren Martin (+15) and Rachel Mathieson (+17) again were the two leaders for the Blue & Grey, both showing big strides to knock the rust off following the first round of play.

Annika Lagos, competing as an individual for LMU made well om her chance Monday in Florida, recording a first-round 40, a strong confidence-builder from the junior out of Arizona.

UP NEXT…
