Ruby McLellan had to wait until after 12pm today to begin her second round, but she continued her historic first season for the blue and gray today finishing the second round of the NCAA Championships at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. McLellan finished day two one stroke better than day one as she shot a second round 80 (+8). McLellan through the first two rounds sits at plus 17 with a 161. She is currently tied for 70th overall and is 26 shots off the lead of Wingate's Amely Bochaton.
McLellan started the day on the 17th hole and proceeded to par the first three holes of the day. She would double bogey the second hole before shooting par on the next five holes before going back to the eighth hole on the course and for the second day, McLellan would double bogey the hole. McLellan would bogey the ninth hole before heading to the 10th hole which has been the longest of the tournament at 509 yards. She would par that hole along with the next two. McLellan would double bogey the par four 13th hole and bogey the par four 14th hole before finishing her second round with two straight pars to finish at plus eight on the day.
McLellan will finish her historic freshman season on Thursday with the third and final round of the NCAA Championships. McLellan's tee time is set for 9:18am.
