Ruby McLellan completes the final round at NCAA Championships

Palm Beach Gardens, FL - Lincoln Memorial University's Ruby McLellan finished off the third and final round of the NCAA Championship on Thursday.  McLellan, who is the first Lady Railsplitter to participate in the NCAA Championships, continued to progress further up the leader board with each round.  The final round was no different as McLellan finished the third round with a 77 (+5) to complete the Championship tournament with a 238 (+22) which was good enough to finish tied for 63rd place with Wingate's Haley Paramore, Nebraska Kearney's Liz Lyons, Ferris State's Kylie Walker, and Arkansas Tech's Jessie Jane Norman.

McLellan started the third round on hole ten and proceeded to hit her first birdie of the tournament on the par five.  From there McLellan would show consistency on the next seven holes by hitting par on all seven holes.  McLellan would have a little issue on the 18th hole and bogeyed the par five 18th for the second time on the week to make the turn at an even 36.  McLellan would also bogey hole one and double bogey the par four second hole before getting her second birdie of the day on the par five at hole three.  McLellan would par the fourth hole before hitting bogey on hole five to move to plus three.  McLellan would also give up a shot on hole seven and another shot on hole nine to finish the round at plus five.  McLellan's third round score of 77 is her best round of the week besting her second round by three shots.

McLellan 's finished the tournament 35 shots off the winning score of 203 (- 13) shot by Wingate's Amely Bochaton.  Bochaton was the only indiviual to finish under par, St. Mary (TX) was the only other golfer to not finish above par as she finished even through three rounds.
