McLellan finishes Round One of NCAA Championship

Palm Beach Gardens, FL - Lincoln Memorial University freshman Ruby McLellan completed the first round of the NCAA DII Women's National Championship on Tuesday with a first round score of 81 (+9).  She is currently tied for 86th individual but her placement to end the round was incomplete due to the first round being suspended until Wednesday because of rain that started around 1:30pm.

McLellan opened the round with a bogey on the first hole but she was able to regroup hit par on the next four holes.  A bogey on hole six followed by a double bogey on hole eight put McLellan plus four at the turn after hole nine.  Another double bogey on the par four at 11 and a bogey on the following hole left McLellan plus seven.  McLellan would par four out of the last six holes but would ultimately would finish plus nine on the day.

McLellan is currently 13 strokes off the lead by Wingate's Amely Bochaton who was able to finish her first round.

McLellan is scheduled to begin round two at 8:40am Wednesday morning, but that will more then likely be pushed back to allow the first round to finish.
