HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – In the first game of the 2022 season, the Lincoln Memorial University men's lacrosse program (0-1) fell on the road to the University of Alabama-Hunstville, 16-3, on Saturday afternoon.
Despite being down 6-0 at the end of the first quarter, the Railsplitters fought back and kept the contest interesting the second frame as freshman
Caleb Raydo tallied his first collegiate goal, and first of the season for LMU, but the Chargers made quick work going into the half up, 10-1.
UAH kept up with their high offensive output in the second half as they raced out to a 14-2 lead after 45 minutes of play. Lincoln Memorial was able to get on the board just two more times in the second half with the first tally coming in the third frame from
Francis O'Hara on a dime from
Hunter Kot.
The Chargers outshot the Railsplitters, 58-20, including notching 34 shots on goal while Lincoln Memorial was able to tally just seven shots on goal. Hunter Rhinehart got the first starting nod in goal for the Splitters and recorded 18 saves in the effort. O'Hara, Raydo and
Rhodes Conroy were the lone goal scorers for the Railsplitters.
Jordan Sullivan anchored the defense and scooped up six ground balls while causing five turnovers.

The Railsplitters will look to Saturday, February 12 when they return to the field against Montevallo in Montevallo, Ala. Face-off is set for 2:00 p.m. EST.
