Men's Lacrosse Falls Late to Catawba

HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Lincoln Memorial University men's lacrosse team got out to a hot start, but Catawba was able to settle down on defense in order to defeat the Railsplitters, 14-10, on Sunday afternoon.

The Indians got the first goal of the afternoon and then quickly went up 2-0 at the 11:32 mark, but the Railsplitters got in the action as Jack Snider found the back of the net on a feed from Francis O'Hara. The LMU offense was on display as they netted three more goals to even things up right as time expired, 4-4.

Lincoln Memorial got things going in the second, taking their first lead of the game behind a Kevin Jendrasik tally at the 10:34 mark. Catawba responded just a minute later to even things back up at 5. Rhodes Conroy then tallied his first of the afternoon on a feed from O'Hara, but the Indians responded with back-to-back goals to take the lead, 7-6. O'Hara went onto tally for the Splitters with 37 seconds remaining to tie the contest going into the break.

The Railsplitters controlled out of the break with Conroy tallying his second of the contest at the 12:14 mark before Catawba rattled off three unanswered goals to take a 10-8 lead into the fourth.

Conroy tallied his hat trick with his third goal at the 10:59 mark, but the Indians defense went onto lock down for the remainder of the contest, allowing just one more Splitter goal. Catawba was able to net three in the fourth quarter to seal the victory over LMU, 14-10.
