HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Lincoln Memorial University men's basketball will continue their quest for the SAC Championship title after securing the quarterfinal win, 97-67, over Lenoir-Rhyne on Wednesday night.
The Railsplitters controlled the contest from the opening tip, limiting the Bears to just 37.9 percent shooting from the field in the first half as the Splitter offense shot 57.6 percent in the first to take a 46-27 lead into the break.
Lincoln Memorial dished out 24 assists on their 39 of the made field goals, while the Lenoir-Rhyne offense notched just 12 assists. The Blue and Gray defense pulled in 40 rebounds, while the Bears pulled in just 21.

Alex Dahling connected early for the Railsplitters as LMU was able to run out to a 22-11 lead at the 9:44 mark. Using an 11-4 run, Lincoln Memorial was able to keep hold of their lead down the stretch. The Railsplitters remained in control through the final minutes of the first as they took the lead, 46-27, into the break.
The Railsplitters remained red hot in the second half as they knocked down 71.4 percent of their shots in the final 20 minutes. Both programs traded baskets over the course of the second frame, but Lincoln Memorial found themselves further breaking away from the Bears, ultimately winning 97-67 over Lenoir-Rhyne.
Guest paved the way to the win with 27 points on 11-of-17 from the field. The junior also pulled in eight rebounds and dished out three assists. Redshirt sophomore
Chase Rankin finished the night with 12 points, five rebounds and three assists.
Jordan Walters neared a double-double as he finished the night with 12 points and seven rebounds.
