Men's Lacrosse Falls to Sailfish on Wednesday

HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Lincoln Memorial University men's lacrosse team came back home after their road trip, but fell on Wednesday evening to Palm Beach Atlantic, 10-3, at the LMU Lacrosse Complex.

The Railsplitters (2-5) and Sailfish (3-2) got out to a defensive stand to begin the game before PBA was able to break the droughts with their first tally of the afternoon at the 8:10 mark in the first. Palm Beach Atlantic's offense kept up the high offensive possessions as they extended their lead by three more to make it 4-0 PBA after one quarter.

The second quarter was a stalemate as the defense locked down with Hunter Rinehart in cage for LMU while Ben Lightsey got the starting nod for PBA. The Sailfish held onto their 4-0 lead throughout the second frame into the halftime break.

The Railsplitters defense stood tall, but the Sailfish were able to extend their lead by two in the third period on goals from Austin Evans and Ben Justice, bring the PBA led to 6-0 after 45 minutes of play.

The Railsplitter offense found the back of the net in the fourth quarter as they rattled off three straight goals to cut the Sailfish lead to five. Palm Beach Atlantic did not take long to respond as they tallied two more goals before the final buzzer sounded with PBA taking a 10-3 win.

Francis O'Hara, Rhodes Conroy and Hunter Kot all netted for Lincoln Memorial as Kot also tallied an assist in the contest. Rinehart picked up 17 saves in the match, playing the full 60 minutes.
