Men's Lacrosse Drops Midweek to Tusculum

HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Lincoln Memorial University men's lacrosse program battled the Pioneers of Tusculum for 60 minutes but fell by a score of 19-10 in the Wednesday afternoon affair at the LMU Lacrosse Complex.

The Pioneers were able to break open the scoring just 37 seconds into the contest, but the Railsplitters did not take long to even things up as Rhodes Conroy tallied his first of the afternoon at the 13:11 mark of the first. Both programs played clean in the first quarter as the offenses were able to tally a combined seven goals in the first as Conroy was able to make it 4-3 after the first quarter.

A relative quiet second quarter saw Tusculum extend their lead early by two to 6-3, but Lincoln Memorial was able to find the net twice to keep the Pioneers lead at two at the break. Aiden Smith and Hunter Lot were able to get the offense going in over the middle of the quarter, beginning with Smith at the 11:48 mark where he tallied his lone of the afternoon before Hunter Kot netted the man-up goal at the 5:40 mark.

The Pioneers controlled the field out of the break, racing to a 18-7 lead after 45 minutes of play. Francis O'Hara and Conroy tallied the lone Railsplitter goals in the third at the 12:54 and 6:09 marks, respectively.

The Railsplitters got the offense rolling to start the fourth, but Tusculum was able to hold the 'Splitter comeback at bay to take the contest, 19-10, over Lincoln Memorial. Conroy rounded out his six-goal performance with his second hat trick in the fourth.
