CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Lincoln Memorial University men's volleyball got their quest for a fourth straight IVA Tournament title underway as they were able to record the sweeping victory in the opening match over Alderson Broaddus.
The Railsplitters took an early 4-1 lead, but the Battlers were able to get back to within one. Using a four-point run, Lincoln Memorial was able to create separation before pushing their lead to 18-11. A quick substitution to bring on
Luigi Pacini saw the Splitters rattle off two straight before Alderson Broaddus tried to mount a comeback, but the Railsplitters were able to secure the set one win, 25-16.
Alderson Broaddus kept things interesting to start the second set as they took an early 7-6 lead, but Lincoln Memorial was able to settle down and rattle off five straight points to take the lead, 11-8. The Railsplitters were able to keep control of the second set as they furthered their lead to 22-13 before trading points back-and-forth with the Battlers, ending with the set two win 25-16.
The Railsplitters wasted no time in the third set as they jumped out to a 10-4 lead. Alderson Broaddus pulled back to within four, but Lincoln Memorial was able to keep up their high-octane offense to take set three and match, 25-18.

The Railsplitters move on to the semifinals where they will meet Limestone. The semifinal match is set for 4:30 p.m. this afternoon.
