Men's Volleyball Secures Victory on Senior Day

HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Lincoln Memorial University men's volleyball program closed out the 2022 regular season at home and held their Senior Day ceremony as they were able to sweep the visiting Tusculum Pioneers on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Railsplitters got out to a rocky start, but a three-point run allowed Lincoln Memorial to shift the momentum into their favor, taking a 16-15 lead. The Pioneers were able to trade points with Lincoln Memorial, tying it up at 20-all before the Railsplitters rattled off five straight points to take set one, 25-20.
 
Lincoln Memorial raced out to a 7-2 lead into a Tusculum timeout before extending their lead to 11-2 moments later. Tusculum was able to cut the lead in half, 16-8, but the Railsplitters relied on the hot offense to secure the second set, 25-12.
 
The Railsplitters were able to take a 7-3 lead to open the third set, but the Pioneers were able to tack on two points making it 7-5. Lincoln Memorial took a 17-11 lead on a 4-2 run just moments later before being able to close out the set to win, 25-17.
 
Johansen Negron powered the Railsplitter offense on the afternoon, finishing with 12 kills with a .471 hitting percentage. Matt Friddle followed with a eight kills performance and added five total blocks to help the Splitters to victory.

The Railsplitters will head to Charlotte, N.C. for the IVA Championships on Friday, April 22 and Saturday, April 23.
