@SplittersWVB Loses to League-Leading Lions

MARS HILL, N.C. – The Lincoln Memorial women's volleyball fell to Mars Hill (25-17, 25-15, 25-17) Tuesday night in Chambers Gymnasium. The loss snaps the Railsplitters' (5-9, 3-3 South Atlantic Conference) two-game winning streak, while the Lions (10-0, 6-0 SAC) remain undefeated with the win.

Set 1: Mars Hill 25-17
The Lions got out to an early 7-1 advantage and would lead by at least four points the rest of the way. Kristen Moehring sparked a late 6-0 Lincoln Memorial run with two aces and a kill to cut Mars Hill's lead to 20-16, but the Lions took 5 of 6 points to clinch the set. Moehring, Kaley Long and Ketura Margaret had three kills each in the opening frame to lead the Railsplitter attack.

Set 2: Mars Hill 25-15
A 5-0 Mars Hill scoring spree extended the hosts' advantage to seven at 10-3, and they would cruise from there to win the second set. Moehring added five kills in the frame to add on to her team-best total.

Set 3: Mars Hill 25-17
Maggie Sanderson's ace highlighted an opening run to give the Railsplitters a 4-0 edge coming out of the break. The Lions, however, fought back with separate 5-0 scoring streaks to take a 10-6 lead. Moehring and Sanderson would later put down kills to spark a 5-point spurt by Lincoln Memorial to get within one at 14-13, but Mars Hill took the final five points to clinch the set and match. Moehring and Abigial Kesler had two kills each for the Railsplitters in the final frame.
