Newberry, SC- The Lady Railsplitters took on the Newberry Wolves this afternoon in Newberry, SC. Newberry started off the game with the kickoff.
Both teams came out eager, and were shooting on goal.
Alicia Bevins was the top shooter for her team in the first half. The Railsplitter offense made 7 shots on goal the first half with a combined effort from
Corrine Denton,
Alicia Bevins,
Emma Snider,
Brooke Boucher,
Ryan Branson, and
Meg Anderson.
Bente Latenstein had 3 saves in the first half. Jaidyn Jacobs scored for Newberry late in the first half assisted by Rizza Songco.
In the second half
Merel Houweling came out fired up as she was our top shooter for the second half.
Bente Latenstein continued to make saves in the second half, not allowing anymore goals for Newberry. Along with Latenstein's saves, Lincoln Memorial's defense did a great job of preventing another goal and only limiting Newberry to 4 shot attempts in the second half. At the end of the second half, the final score was 1-0, Newberry.
The Newberry Wolves took the victory over Lincoln Memorial this Saturday afternoon with a final score of 1-0. The Lady Railsplitters will be back in action Wednesday September 28 at 1 pm.
