Men's Volleyball Downs Barton in Three Sets for Second Straight Win

HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Lincoln Memorial men's volleyball team swept Barton College (25-13, 25-13, 25-19) Saturday afternoon at Mary Mars Gym to win its second match of the weekend. The Railsplitters, who improved to 3-3 on the season, made quick work of the Bulldogs (0-2), outhitting them .416 to .093 for the day.

Set 1: Lincoln Memorial 25-13
Back-to-back Cole Campisano aces capped a 4-0 rally to put the hosts up 4-2, while a later 6-0 scoring run extended the advantage to 12-5, with the Railsplitters coasting from there. Shay Spadaro and Matthew Gentry went for three kills each in the opening frame.

Set 2: Lincoln Memorial 25-13
Leading 13-9, Lincoln Memorial used two terminations from Justin Sharfenaker and one kill each from Spadaro and Ethan Morgan to lead by eight points, and they would cruise to another set win by taking 12 of the final 16 points. Sharfenaker put down a set-best seven kills in the second frame.

Set 3: Lincoln Memorial 25-19
The Bulldogs led by as many as three points at 13-10, but the host Railsplitters clamped down to take 15 of the final 21 points of the set to clinch the match. Gentry's kill ended the set, while Shay Spadaro's seven kills paced Lincoln Memorial in the final frame.
