Bevo Francis Award Watch List

Lincoln Memorial men's basketball point guard Chase Rankin has made the Top 100 Watch List for the Bevo Francis Award, the Small College Basketball organization announced Sunday.

The Clarence "Bevo" Francis Award is presented annually to the player who has had the finest overall season within Small College Basketball. Former Railsplitter Emanuel Terry took home the award in 2018.

Rankin leads Lincoln Memorial in scoring (14.3 points per game) and with 6.6 assists per game, while he has the second-best rebounding average on the team at 6.3 boards per game. The graduate from Columbus, Ohio shoots an efficient 57.3 percent from the field including 50.8 percent on 3-pointers, and he ranks in the Top 10 nationally in average and total assists.

The watch list will be narrowed down to 50 on Feb. 15 and 25 on March 15 before the finalists are announced on April 1. The 2023 Bevo Francis Award winner will be announced two days later on April 3.

The No. 5 Railsplitters (17-1, 7-0 South Atlantic Conference) are riding a 16-game winning streak into Wednesday night's game at Mars Hill.
