Women's Soccer Comes Up Short Against Carson Newman

Harrogate, TN- The Lady Railsplitters fall to Carson-Newman 1-2 on Wednesday.

The Lady Eagles would strike quickly, scoring a goal in the 7th minute to take the 1-0 lead. They would extend it to 2-0 in the 22nd minute by Selina Jud. Lincoln Memorial would equalize the Carson-Newman attack from here on, keeping the score 0-2 at half. 

The second half would open very similarly with neither team capitalizing on their opportunities. The Lady Railsplitters would up the urgency with Lexi Bearden finding the back of the net in the 84th minute to close the gap to 1-2. Despite maintaining the pressure, LMU would come up empty, keeping that as the final score. 

LMU moves to 7-4-2 (3-2-2) on the year and will be back in action against Wingate (7-2-1, 4-2) on Saturday, October 14th at 1 PM in Wingate, NC.
