Salisbury, NC- The Lady Railsplitters would fall to #2 Catawba on the road on Saturday.
Catawba would strike first with a goal in the 15th minute from Kylie Morin. Sydney Jimmo would score shortly after in the 20th minute to extend the lead to 2-0. LMU would spend the rest of the half trying to equalize the Lady Indians' attacking efforts.Â
The second half would begin in a similar fashion until Jimmo would add her second score of the day. This would be the end of Catawba's scoring efforts on the day, largely due to Lincoln Memorial back line and goalkeeper
Bente Latenstein, who had eleven saves on the day.Â
In the 74th minute, a change in possession would give
Carla Wilson the ball about 30 yards out from the goal. She would launch a shot from the distance and find the top corner to give Lincoln Memorial their lone score of the game. This would round out the scoring on the day, making the final score 1-3.Â
Lincoln Memorial moves to 7-3-2 on the season, 3-1-2 in conference play. They will be back in action on Wednesday, October 11th for a matchup with Carson-Newman (4-4-2, 3-3-1) at 1 PM in Harrogate.
