Harrogate, TN - After falling to #24 West Alabama prior to the Thanksgiving break, the Lincoln Memorial men's basketball team is looking to work its way back into the win column on Saturday at King. Out of the Railsplitters' five games this season, three have been against competition who was ranked at the time of the game. Lincoln Memorial opened its home slate against then-ranked #8 UNC-Pembroke before traveling to Huntsville, AL for a match up with then-ranked #23 Alabama-Huntsville. The following day the Railsplitters took on then-ranked #24 West Alabama Tigers. It was the only game of the three successive ranked games that resulted in a loss.
Looking ahead to Saturday's match up with King, Lincoln Memorial holds advantages in most statistical categories. King is 1-3 on the season, with losses to fellow SAC members UVA-Wise, Carson-Newman, and Emory & Henry. The Railsplitters are shooting 49% from the floor this season with a 39% mark from long range, and a 70% clip from the charity stripe. For the Tornado, they're posting a 42% mark from the floor and connecting on 30% of shots from long range, with a 58% mark from the charity stripe. Historically, Lincoln Memorial has dominated the series with King, holding a 13-1 advantage head-to-head. The last match up in November of 2022 saw the Railsplitters outscore the Tornado 119-72. The last time King took victory was in November of 2015 in Bristol, downing Lincoln Memorial 83-69. It is the only victory for the Tornado in 14 attempts.
