Chase Rankin has advanced to the Top 50 Watch List for the Bevo Francis Award, the Small College Basketball organization announced Wednesday.

The Clarence "Bevo" Francis Award is presented annually to the player who has had the finest overall season within Small College Basketball. Former Railsplitter Emanuel Terry took home the award in 2018.

Rankin, a graduate student from Columbus, Ohio, leads all of Division II in both assists per game (7.0) and total assists (189) while averaging 12.8 points and 5.9 rebounds per game so far this season.

Rankin remained on the list after it was narrowed down from 100 back in January. Another cut will be made to 25 and announced on March 15 before finalists will be determined on April 1. The winner of the Bevo Francis Award will be announced on April 3.

The No. 7 Railsplitters (25-2, 15-1 South Atlantic Conference) play in their final road game of the regular season on Saturday at Lenoir-Rhyne at 4 p.m.
