CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Lincoln Memorial baseball team fell 4-3 in 16 innings at Charleston on Wednesday.
The Railsplitters (10-2) scored in the 5
th inning on a
Collin Goda RBI single and twice in the 8
th inning on 2-run base hit to left field by
Ryan Kurth, but couldn't cross the plate for the final 7 innings of the game to fall to the Golden Eagles, who improved to 6-4 on the year after a walkoff run-scoring double by Hector Carreon-Herrara ended the marathon game.
Charleston's Austin Dzierwa picked up the win with 6 strikeouts in 3.0 hitless innings, while
Will Shelton took the loss after 3.2 innings of 4-hit ball and 5 strikeouts.
Dylan Hogan had Lincoln Memorial's only multi-hit night, going 3-for-6 with a trio of singles.
The Railsplitters will host Catawba this weekend beginning at 4 p.m. on Friday for their South Atlantic Conference opening series.
